Welcome!
We are a used, independent bookstore in historic Seymour Indiana. I opened the store in 2020 to fulfill a lifelong dream of mine - to own a bookstore and bring an abundance of brand-new literature to my community!
Our goal is to create a community of bookworms and readers who are passionate about discovering and discussing new books. We want to build a place where people can find new books that they may not have heard of before. Our space will also feature reviews and recommendations so that others can get insights and opinions on these books. We want to provide a space where individuals can share stories, exchange ideas, and have meaningful conversations about books.

One of our values is that we provide customers with books that align with their values, and interests at a reasonable cost. So, they can be happy with their purchases. This not only provides them with a great selection of books but also gives them the satisfaction that comes from supporting a small business.

Meet the owner
Meet Jenna
Meet Jenna, she is the owner of the Magic of Books Bookstore. She has been living her dream of running her own bookstore since August 2020. She wanted to own her own store since she was a young child. She could always be found at the local library, school library, or tucked away in her room reading.
After working in the manufacturing field for over half her life she quit to stay home with her two children. While being a stay-at-home mom an opportunity to start her own bookstore arose and she took it! Some thought she was crazy starting this adventure during Covid but it didn’t stop her in the slightest.
Jenna is very passionate about reading, her store, and the community. Jenna’s advice to anyone wanting to start their own business is “Don’t let anyone or anything stop you. If you want it, you work your hardest and make it happen. Not everyone will stand behind you but focus on the ones that are. They are your true cheerleaders! Things won’t be easy but, set goals and make yourself stay on track. Dreams do come true, but it takes a lot of work.”
Jenna loves being located downtown, Seymour. “Everyone is like a family down there. We all stick together. I couldn’t imagine having my store anywhere else!”

We're proud to support all genres, so if there's something you can't find just ask and we can order in for you! We can also order popular titles on pre-order so you can dive in on the day of release!
